Ennis changes downtown development, tourism director placed on leave

ENNIS – Amid the number of changes in Ennis over the last month with the departure of the City Manager and one of its City Council members, the Downtown Development and Tourism Director, Becky McCarty, was also placed on paid administrative leave for undisclosed reasons earlier this month.

McCarty was placed on leave by interim City Manager, Daniel Ortiz-Hernandez after a meeting with Destination Ennis discussing the city’s Hay Maze and Pumpkin Patch.

It was reported Destination Ennis had decided not to be part of the Maze & Pumpkin festival after McCarty was placed on leave.
