Ellis County Toys for Tots 2024 Campaign seeking local volunteers

ENNIS – The Ellis County Toys for Tots Campaign had a very successful campaign season last year, distributing 24,373 toys to 10,825 children in need.

This will be the fifth annual campaign season, which will kick off and will be active on Oct. 1 – Dec. 23.

The campaign is in the process of forming its volunteer led planning committee staff and cadre of other volunteers who are willing to ensure the success of the program within the County this 2024 campaign season.

The committee staff will encompass local Marines, other local military veterans, as well as other civilian members of the community.

“We are currently seeking people with expertise, interest, and/or influence in the below listed areas,” said Robert Bell, campaign coordinator. “Those interested are not required to have prior experience. Areas of interest needing help: Operations, Volunteer management, Logistics, Warehouse management, Inventory management, Community relations management, Media relations, Agency management, Event management, Email Marketing (minimal commitment), Donor management and Fundraising.”

Bell continued, “We are in need of many other individuals and organizations to come together to make this effort a success. We currently have needs in the following areas: Warehouse/Storage facility (donated or leased at roughly 10,000–15,000 sq. ft); Financial and Gift-In-Kind Donors; Printing services; Organizations willing to host toy drop boxes and events at their location; Transportation services (donated truck/driver to pick up toys throughout the County); Individuals/Organization volunteers to sort toys in the warehouse; Local social welfare agencies/organizations/groups, church groups and other local philanthropic organizations to help facilitate toys getting to families; and Individual families to request toys for their children.

“Our intent is to include as many members of the Ellis County community as possible for this, and every year’s, campaign. Everyone involved should feel the excitement, knowing that their hard work helped put smiles on the faces and provided a tangible sign of hope to thousands of children on Christmas morning.”
