ELLIS COUNTY – While the weather has been extremely hot so far this summer, the rumor that Ellis County is under a burn ban is false.
Residents have been confused about the county currently being under a burn ban due to old signs not removed from the previous burn ban in 2023.
According to Ellis County Judge Todd Little’s office Ellis County is not under a burn ban and it would have to be approved by the county commissioners.
The last burn ban in Ellis County expired in September 2023.
