FERRIS – Ferris’ Brick cards went out this week, and residents and businesses around the city should be receiving the $35 cards any day.

While there has been some confusion on the specific stores and shops currently taking the cards – stores that are open during the COVID-19 “stay safe stay home” order should be accepting the card for up to $35 spent.

There was some confusion as to Brookshire Brothers Grocery Store accepting the cards, but according to sources the store is happy to accept the card through April 30, 2020.

Stores with corporate offices outside of the area such as Dollar General and Family Dollar might not be able to take the card due to corporate policy.

If you shop at a store where the card is not taken, you can still be reimbursed. The explanation for reim-bursement is outlined on the back of the card.

As a quick reminder, keep your receipt from the store where you shopped.

Just mail the brick card and the receipt to Ferris City Hall, 100 Town Plaza, Ferris, TX 75125, and the city will reimburse you for $35 of the cost on the receipt.

Residents must use the card by April 30, 2020. The postmark on the mailed in receipt must be dated no later than May 1, 2020.
