ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County Commissioners issued a proclamation last week to Elizabeth Norwood.
Norwood is a senior 4-H member from Midlothian.
She received the proclamation on behalf of the Ellis County Judge John Wray and the Commissioners for exhibiting the Reserve Grand Champion Steer at the 2025 State Fair of Texas.
“Elizabeth’s exceptional skill, dedication, and leadership in agriculture have truly set her apart,” a release from Wray’s office read.
“She has been an active member of Ellis County 4-H since the third grade exhibiting market steers and representing our community with integrity and pride every step of the way.”
Her Reserve Grand Champion Steer sold at the Youth Auction in Dallas for $50,000.
In the future, Norwood said she will attend Texas A&M University in the Fall of 2026.
She would like to pursue a degree in AgriBusiness.
