WAXAHACHIE – The Ellis County Commissioner’s Court unanimously approved the terms and conditions of a letter of intent for a proposed Texas Juvenile Justice Department Corrections Facility ground lease with the State of Texas.
The item was originally pulled for executive session for commissioners to receive advice from counsel.
After the executive session, the item was approved with no discussion.
The letter of intent was to Ellis County Judge Todd Little from the State of Texas acting by and through the Texas Facilities Commission, for the benefit of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.
The long-term ground lease with Ellis County will be located on 30 acres in Waxahachie for a lease rate of $98,000 annually.
The lease term is for 50 years with two renewal options.
