ENNIS – Ennis Police made quick arrests on July 30 in the afternoon after being notified four men had exited the Tractor Supply store in the 300 block of Interstate 45 with three stolen generators.
An employee from the Tractor Supply called police advising them of the theft.
The employee also provided a vehicle description of a black minivan and a partial license plate number.
Ennis Police Department’s Communications Division advised the officers over the radio that the van was heading northbound on the service road of IH-45.
Following the call, police located the vehicle, with one officer attempting to make a traffic stop. During the stop two of the four suspects fled on foot.
An Ennis PD officer quickly arrested the other two suspects who had not attempted to flee and located the stolen generators inside the minivan.
A perimeter was created to locate the two additional suspects who were also quickly apprehended after the use of a drone, the Ellis County K-9 team, and an officer from the Palmer Police Officer who was on hand to assist.
All four suspects were arrested and charged with engaging in organized criminal activity.
The two suspects who also attempted to flee were also charged with evading arrest/detention.
