2 false threats at Ennis High School, hospital

ENNIS – According to the Ennis Police Department Facebook page, a threatening email targeting the Ennis High School campus was received at the end of early release last week.

Due to the threat, Ennis ISD Police and Ennis Police increased their presence during dismissal to ensure the safety of students and staff.

While the threat was discovered to be false, police indicated they believed the threat “originated from the same individual responsible for a previous false threat at Ennis Regional Medical Center.”

That false threat occurred at that hospital last week. 

The hospital situation was quickly investigated and resolved, and Ennis PD stated, “After a thorough assessment, it was determined that there was no credible threat. 

“Out of an abundance of caution, appropriate measures were taken to ensure everyone’s safety.”
Police said regarding the Ennis High School incident, “Efforts to identify and hold the responsible individual accountable are ongoing. 

They also said, “While the two incidents appeared to be connected, law enforcement treated the matter with the utmost seriousness.”
