ELLIS COUNTY – Last week, the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and FBI Dallas’s North Texas Child Exploitation Task Force announced the conclusion of Operation Soteria Shield.
Operation Soteria Shield was a month-long collaborative enforcement effort conducted in April 2025 aimed at rescuing children from online sexual exploitation and bringing perpetrators to justice.
The results were 109 children rescued during the operation and 244 offenders arrested during the operation including 21 registered sex offenders.
Collaboration of state and federal partners was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when agencies unite for a common cause.
Several Ellis County agencies participated in the roundup and the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department said,
“The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office proudly participated in Operation Soteria Shield, a statewide, multi-agency initiative that brought together more than 70 law enforcement agencies including local police departments, federal agencies, and children’s advocacy centers, banding together in this extensive campaign to combat child exploitation and human trafficking.”
Ellis County Sheriff Brad Norman added, “Protecting children and standing up for the innocent will always be a priority for this Office.
“We’re honored to stand with law enforcement partners who share that mission.”
Local departments taking part in the operation from Ellis County and nearby Dallas cities included Cedar Hill PD, DeSoto PD, Ennis PD, Grand Prairie PD, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, Kaufman PD, Midlothian PD and Wilmer PD.
