City of Glenn Heights

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Glenn Heights, Texas, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday October 07, 2025, beginning at 7:00 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers, located at 1938 South Hampton Road, Bldg. C, Glenn Heights, Texas, 75154, as prescribed by V.T.C.S., Government Code Section §551.041, to consider and possibly take action on the following:

Annexation (A-01-25): A Public Hearing will be held to receive testimony considering the proposed annexation of the following property into the City limits of Glenn Heights, Ellis County and Dallas County, Texas.

Property Proposed for Annexation: Being an 83.780-acre tract of land situated in the James J. Clayton Survey, Abstract Number 211, and W. Rawlins Survey, Abstract Number 1363 in Ellis County, Texas and the W. Rawlins Survey, Abstract Number 1205 in Dallas County, Texas and being all of the First Texas Homes, Inc. called 1.290-acre tract, described in deed recorded in Instrument 2127852, Deed Records, Ellis County, Texas (DRECT), all of the First Texas Homes, Inc. called 22.056-acre tract, described in deed recorded in Instrument 2431365, DRECT, a portion of the First Texas Homes, Inc. called 38.997-acre tract, described in deed recorded in Instrument 2018320, DRECT and a portion of the First Texas Homes, Inc. called 60.643-acre tract, described in deed recorded in Instrument 2434329, DRECT.

The property is generally located on the west side of South Westmoreland Road and north of East Ovilla Road.

All interested parties are encouraged to attend the public hearing to provide testimony or express comments regarding this Annexation request. If you cannot attend, you may submit comments in writing in support or opposition.

If approved, the annexation would extend the boundary limits of the City of Glenn Heights to include the above-described property and said property and its residents would be entitled to all rights, services, and privileges of other citizens of the City and would be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions, and regulations of the City.
