WAXAHACHIE – John Kelly Forbes, 34, was convicted by a jury and sentenced to 30 years for aggravated assault of a police officer, according to Ellis County and District Attorney Ann Montgomery.

RED OAK – The Red Oak ISD tabled a vote until the August school board meeting pending a request for additional data points including students’ success rates regarding a successful 10-year ISD program called Edgenuity.

He was supported at the competition by Midlothian Sgt. Jordan, Commander Harp and Police Chief Carl Smith.
