FERRIS ISD ROUND UP FOR PRE-K & KINDERGARTEN APRIL 29 – MAY 2

FERRIS – Ferris ISD is Rounding Up new 3 and 4 year olds for Pre-K and 5-year-old Kindergarten students for the 2019-2020 school year. Round Up will be held at Hazel Ingram Elementary School, 600 S. Central Street, Ferris, Monday through Thursday, April 29 – May 2.

FM 664 at Little Creed Bridge to close overnight April 18

ELLIS COUNTY – Crews will close all lanes of FM 664 in Ovilla overnight on Thursday, April 18 to set beams on the Little Creek Bridge. The closure will be from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Friday, April 19.

FERRIS – While the thunderstorms roared through the Ellis County area Saturday and was the reason Ferris’ annual Brick Fest was canceled, it did not dampen the spirits of the candidates who showed up to participate in the City Council Candidates Forum.

Welcome to our first “front porch” visit – at least, our first such visit in the last decade or more. Back when I still roamed the halls and the gym at Red Oak High School – teaching and coaching – many of us spent time together here in the newspaper. We are glad to be back.
