Keep kids’ minds active during the holiday break

STATEPOINT – Even a short vacation from school can cause learning loss and leave kids feeling behind when they return to the classroom. Fortunately, there are many ways to keep minds active during the holiday break, some of which will reinforce the concepts they are learning in school.

December is a great time to celebrate Read a New Book Month, which encourages people to explore new genres, authors, and topics. The holiday season brings more free time for people to read, and the cold weather makes it especially appealing to curl up with a good book.
