WAXAHACHIE – There will be no charges filed in the Waxahachie High School restroom vandalizing incident.

After investigation of the September incident, the suspects were identified and all were juveniles.

“The total value of damage that was first estimated has been drastically reduced, roughly $300 in total damage done,” Waxahachie Police Department Lt. Chris Dickinson said in a news release.

The damage was initially believed to be in the thousands.

“Due to this occurring at a school, we are unable to file class C charges on these juveniles,” Dickinson said. “We verified with David Hernandez, the juvenile prosecutor, who confirmed that no charges can be filed. The school will handle discipline. As of now the case has been closed.”

Waxahachie Independent School District reported 14 restrooms had been damaged during a TikTok challenge. The damage included torn toilet paper dispensers, soap dispensers, toilet seats and hand dryers as well as damage to tile and drywall.
