Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated in the United States from Sept.15 to Oct. 15 each year. It’s a time to recognize and honor the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

Stop by the Ferris Public Library and discover something new. Whether it’s a story, a tradition, or a new perspective – you’re sure to find something worth appreciating. We invite you to explore works by writers like Gabriel García Márquez, Isabel Allende, Elizabeth Acevedo, Juan Felipe Herrera, and Gary Soto – just a few who reflect the diversity of the Hispanic experience.

STORY TIME is hosted every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Children are treated to stories, fun activities, and a snack. Before leaving, your child may choose a prize from the treasure chest to take home.

GAME TIME and LEGO LAB are offered on alternating Thursdays from 4 – 5 p.m., giving children a chance to play, build, and grow in a fun, welcoming space.

BOOKS ON DISPLAY: “My Name is Emilia del Valle” by Isabel Allende, “En Agosto Nos Vemos” by Gabriel García Márquez, “Family Lore” by Elizabeth Acevedo, “The Upside Down Boy” by Juan Felipe Herrera, “Violeta” by Isabel Allende, and “Partly Cloudy: Poems of Love and Longing” (Dewey 811) by Gary Soto.
