FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (May 19, 2022)

Texas’ 7th Congressional Republican Party primary runoff election will be here at the Ferris Public Library on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This election is to determine which Republican candidate will run in the district’s general election on November 8, 2022.

We’re happy to say the library’s annual book sale will be held this year during our Summer Reading Club. The theme this year’s Summer Program theme is “Oceans of Possibilities.”

NEW BOOKS: “A Relative Murder” By Jude Deveraux, “Along the Rio Grande: Love on the Santa Fe Series #1” by Tracie Peterson, “French Braid” by Anne Tyler, “City of the Dead” by Jonathan Kellerman, “Meet Me in the Margins” by Melissa Ferguson, “The Power of Thank You: Discover the Joy of Gratitude” (Dewey 241) by Joyce Meyer, “Keep the Memories, Lose the Stuff: Declutter, Downsize, and Move Forward With Your Life” (Dewey 648) by Matt Paxton, and “The Betrayal of Anne Frank: A Cold Case Investigation” (Dewey 940) by Rosemary Sullivan.

WORD OF THE WEEK: Ill-willie (Scottish) meaning is someone having an unfriendly disposition. Sure, you could say mean, surly, cantankerous, or any of the dozen synonyms, and have everyone know what you mean. But sometimes you may not want everyone to know what you mean, especially the person you’re talking about.
