Join us Monday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for Hook & Needle!

Needlework enthusiasts of all skill levels are invited to bring their current projects and enjoy a relaxing morning of crafting and conversation. Whether you knit, crochet, cross-stitch, embroider, sew, or practice another fiber art, you’re welcome to join us. Light refreshments will be available, and drop-ins are encouraged. Please remember to bring your own supplies and materials, as the library does not provide them.

And don’t forget to wear green on March 17! Children are invited to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a themed  craft from 3 to 4 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!

Get ready for fast-paced fun at our Library Trivia Challenge on Thursday, March 19 from 4 to 5 p.m.! School-age children are invited to test their knowledge in an exciting buzzer-style competition. Participants will race to be the first to answer questions covering a variety of topics, including books, movies, history, science, and more. Winners will take home small prizes, but everyone will leave with new knowledge and great memories. Join us for an afternoon of friendly competition and brain-boosting fun at the library!

STORY TIME is hosted every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Children are treated to stories, fun activities, and a snack. This is a wonderful way to build routines, make new friends, and create special memories. Before leaving, your child may choose a prize from the Treasure Chest to take home.

NEW BOOKS: “Anatomy of an Alibi” by Ashley Elston, “An Arcane Inheritance” by Kamilah Cole, “A Box Full of Darkness” by Simone St. James, “The Hero of Ages” by Brandon Sanderson, and “1929: Inside the Greatest Crash in Wall Street History - and How It Shattered a Nation” (Dewey 338) by Andrew Ross Sorkin.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY FUN FACTS

The Original Color Was Blue: Green only became associated with the holiday in the late 18th century; before that, “St. Patrick’s Blue” was the color.

Green River: Chicago has dyed its river green to celebrate the holiday since 1955.

Lucky Shamrocks: The three-leaf clover, or shamrock, was used by St. Patrick to explain the Holy Trinity.

The “Pinch” Rule: Wearing green is said to make you invisible to leprechauns, who will pinch you otherwise.
