FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (December 22, 2022)

The City of Ferris just announced that the program “Access for All” that covers Ferris residents will be extended to cover Ferris ISD students, staff, and the families of students and staff will be covered.

More information will be available in the coming days from Ferris ISD and the City of Ferris. Our City Manager, Brooks Williams, has been hard at work to make this happen.

Basically “Access for All” in partnership MD Health Pathways and the City of Ferris offers free telehealth services with immediate access to a clinician. Directions to register via email, telephone, and on the mdhealth’s website will be forthcoming.

Library staff may be reached at ferrislibrary@ferristexas.gov.

NEW BOOKS: “A Christmas Memory” by Richard Paul Evans, “Home Sweet Christmas” by Susan Mallery, “Dashing Through the Snowbirds” by Donna Andrews, “The Twelve Topsy-Turvey Very Messy Days of Christmas” by James Patterson and Tad Safran, “Captive” by Iris Johansen, “The Girl From Guernica” by Karen Robards, “The Orchard” by Beverly Lewis, “Sugar and Salt” by Susan Wiggs, and “Last Stage to El Paso” by William W. Johnstone.

WORD OF THE WEEK: “Rubberneck” (RUB-er-nek) means to look around with great curiosity; to slow down while you are driving to stare at something. In 2017, the company SpaceX launched a rocket in order to send satellites into space. The launch was successful, but all the people rubbernecking on the freeway below caused a multi-car crash.
