FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (December 15, 2022)

On Tuesday, Dec. 20, we will be handing out free Holiday Craft Bags for children ages 4 to 8 years old. The gift bags are limited so it will be first come, first served.

Your child(ren) will need to be with you to receive a Holiday Craft Bag. Each bag is filled with activities, small toys, and games.

The U.S. Department of Energy asked the Ferris Public Library to help provide consumers with information about fuel economy and the benefits of using fuel-efficient vehicles. You can obtain a printable, electronic version of the 2023 Fuel Economy Guide at http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/printGuides.shtml.

WORD OF THE WEEK: “Axle” (AK-sul). Engineer George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr. created the first Ferris Wheel in 1893. Two 140-foot steel towers supported the giant wheel which was connected by a 45-foot axle. At the time, the axle was the largest piece of forged steel ever made.
