FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (August 17, 2023)

The Ferris Public Library’s Story Time for pre-school children will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 10:30 a.m.

Each Wednesday, children will be treated to a story, fun activities, and have a snack. Before leaving, your child may choose a prize from the Treasure Chest to take home.

We will also resume our After-School Game Time for ages 7 through 17, starting on Thursday, Aug. 18, from 3:30 – 5 p.m.

This program will be held every Thursday afternoon. Kids may play the PS5 on the large screen, and for those that like board games they can play them as well.

The Ferris Public Library’s Annual Book Sale will be closing at the end of August, so if you haven’t taken advantage of the great prices on these books and DVDs you’re running out of time.

All the books in this sale have been donated throughout the year, so there’s a wide variety of authors and topics to choose from.

NEW BOOKS: “Palazzo” by Danielle Steel, “The Librarianist” by Patrick Dewitt, “The Beach at Summerly” by Beatriz Williams, “ A Little Ray of Sunshine” by Kristan Higgins, “The Last Secret of the Secret Annex: The Untold Story of Anne Frank, Her Silent Protector, and a Family Betrayal” (Dewey 940) by  Joop van Wijk-Voskuijl, and “The Summer of 1876: Outlaws, Lawmen, and Legends in the Season that Defined the American West” (Dewey 978) by Chris Wimmer.

JOKE OF THE WEEK: A man goes into a library and asks for a book on cliffhangers. The librarian says...
