Residents are encouraged to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors, and step outside to gather with neighbors for block parties, cookouts, and visits from regional first responders. The event aims to strengthen police-community relationships, heighten crime prevention awareness, and foster neighborhood camaraderie.

PALMER
2026 Palmer Police Department’s National Night Out. Time: Oct. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. Location: in front of the Palmer Police Station, 650 S. Dallas St.
RED OAK
2026 Red Oak National Night Out Centralized Celebration. Time: 6 to 8:30 p.m. Location: Red Oak Government Center. Features emergency vehicle tours, prizes, giveaways, and free refreshments.
VENUS
2026 Venus National Night Out. Time: 5 to 7:30 p.m. Location: Fielder Park, Venus. Features food, ice cream, and other activities as well as vendors that will be present at National Night Out.
WILMER
2026 Wilmer National Night Out. Time: 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Location: 101 Davidson Plaza. Features a joint community partnership between the Wilmer Police Department and the Wilmer Fire Department, the entire community is invited out for a family-friendly evening.
The festival will feature free food, live music, interactive games, and activities.
It provides an open opportunity for residents to meet local officers, tour emergency vehicles, and mingle with public safety personnel.
In addition to 19 cities/towns in Ellis County (five of which straddle two counties that include Ellis), there are also 18 unincorporated towns; Alsdorf, Auburn, Avalon, Boz, Brisol, Britton, Crisp, Five Points, Forreston, Ike, India, Ozro, Rankin, Reagor Springs, Rockett, Sardis, Telico and Trumbull.
