Accidents plagued Ellis County during the snow and ice snap

ENNIS - Texans might do a lot of things well, but driving in snow and ice is not one of the things on that list.

Ennis reported on Feb. 3, police were working a major accident on 287 northbound near Ennis Parkway with the northbound traffic completely shut down.

Police asked residents to use alternate routes and avoid this area as there were many emergency vehicles operating at the scene of the accident.

Ennis Police Department did not respond regarding if there were injuries or fatalities due to the accident nor did they answer how long this particular roadway was shut down.

The storm, The Weather Channel named Mara, hit much of Texas last week causing fires, downed trees and traffic accidents reported in Waxahachie, Red Oak, Alma, Palmer, Italy, Milford, and Ennis during the three day event.
