The City of Ferris is  going to attempt to complete the project over the two-day weekend, Saturday, Jan. 18 and Sunday,  Jan. 19. 

Workers will be utilizing multiple pieces of equipment to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in order to meet this schedule. According to city officials, “However, this is a goal and the process can be impacted by several factors. That said, this is the proposed schedule for the project: 

 

Saturday, Jan. 18 – 8 a.m.

• Begin pressure wash cleaning parking lots/markings. 

• Begin surface preparation for installing crosswalks and replacing stop bars on Main St., S. Church St., 5th St. and 7th St. (at railroad crossings). 

 

Saturday, Jan. 18 – 12 p.m.

• Begin paint application to parking lines, access aisles/loading zones & handicap spaces. 

• Begin thermoplastic installation (crosswalks and stop bars). 

 

Sunday, Jan. 19 – 8 a.m.

• Begin surface preparation for installing crosswalks and replacing stop bars/railroad crossing markings on 6th Street. 

• Complete paint/thermoplastic installation that was not completed on Saturday. 

• Begin thermoplastic installation (RR markings, crosswalks and stop bars). 

 

Sunday, Jan. 26 – 8 a.m. (if necessary) 

• Complete any remaining tasks of project. 

 

City personnel will block off one lane of each street on each day or just leave the traffic control equipment at a designated location and we will place them as needed.

While working, we intend to leave a lane open on each street while working on the other lane.
