WAXAHACHIE – Quarterback Ramon McKinney Jr. totaled 170 yards of offense and ran for a touchdown to lead Waxahachie.
Waxahachie running back Wade Lemons scored the first touchdown on a 31-yard run.
Waxahachie (6-2, 3-2 11-6A) held just a 10-7 lead at the end of the third quarter before McKinney’s 79-yard touchdown run with 4:12 left in the game to put them up 16-7.
Braxton Van Cleave connected with Zion Robinson on a 16-yard pass with three seconds left in regulation to give Mansfield (5-3, 2-3) hope. After an onside kick recovery, Van Cleave threw a Hail Mary that was broken up, which sealed Waxahachie’s win.
Mansfield running back Marquise Hubbard finished with 77 total yards and a rushing touchdown. The teams combined for 14 punts and four turnovers.
