WEEK 7: Red Oak rolls to 63-7 Homecoming win

RED OAK – Quarterback Reggie Moody passed for 220-yards and three touchdowns to lead Red Oak over Waco 63-7 at Billy Goodloe Stadium.

Red Oak (6-0, 4-0 District 4-5A Div. I) four-star receiver Taz WIlliams scored on the first drive with a 9-yard catch from Moody. After a Waco score, Red Oak scored 56 unanswered points that were finished by a 30-yard fumble return touchdown from Darius Butler to make the final 63-7. Red Oak’s defense forced seven turnovers and gave up no points. 

Waco (1-6,0-5 District 4-5A Div. I) linebacker Amyas Ervin scored their lone points on a 50-yard fumble return in the first quarter.

Red Oak running back Chris Martinez combined for 165 yards and two touchdowns, one being a 13-yard run and the other a seven-yard pass to receiver Charles Taplin. Running Back Roman Bedolla added 167 yards and a touchdown on 11 rushes in the second half. Receiver Rodney Malone added 106 yards receiving and a touchdown on six catches.

This is the first time in school history Red Oak has started 6-0.

Red Oak travels to Cleburne (2-5) on Friday, October 13 with a scheduled 7 p.m. kickoff time. 

The playoff picture is getting interesting with overall undefeated Red Oak (6-0, 4-0), Midlothian (6-1, 5-0) and Lake Belton (6-1, 4-1). Midlothian’s bye week is October 13, and Lake Belton will have their bye week on October 27. Midlothian and Lake Belton meet on October 20.
