WEEK 10: Midlothian 36, Killeen Ellison 0

MIDLOTHIAN – In between four lightning delays, an opportunistic Midlothian special teams set up two Slater Callahan rushing touchdowns in a win over Killeen Ellison.

In the second quarter, the Killeen Ellison punter fumbled the snap and was tackled at their own 14-yard-line. Two plays later, Callahan scored for a 19-0 lead.

After an hour-long lightning delay during halftime, Callahan rushed for a 16-yard touchdown after a Killeen Ellison returner muffed a kickoff.

The game started late due to lightning. On the first possession of the game, Killeen Ellison (2-7, 2-5 District 4-5A Division I) snapped a punt attempt through the end zone for a safety. On the ensuing drive, Midlothian quarterback Colin Shannon connected with Bryant Wesco on a 32-yard touchdown pass for a 9-0 lead.

To start the second half, Wesco returned the kickoff 61 yards, which set up Michael Garber’s

12-yard touchdown run.

The Midlothian (8-1, 7-0) defense held Killeen Ellison to nine first downs and 73 yards.
