LANCASTER – Waxahachie is headed to the playoffs for the sixth consecutive year after clinching a postseason berth with a 38-21 win over Lancaster.
The win kept Waxahachie (7-1, 5-1) in a threeway tie for first with Duncanville and DeSoto in District 11-6A going into the final week of the regular season.
Lancaster (4-5, 3-3) saw a streak of seven consecutive playoff appearances end when Cedar Hill rallied from a 31-14 fourth-quarter deficit to beat Mesquite Horn 42-31. That means that all four playoff spots in 11-6A have been decided, with Duncanville, DeSoto and Cedar Hill joining Waxahachie in the postseason.
