RED OAK – Quarterback Connor Crews accounted for all seven of Lake Belton’s touchdowns, none more important than a 14-yard pass to Micah Hudson in overtime, as Lake Belton came back from a 14-point halftime deficit.
Red Oak scored a touchdown with 3:04 remaining to take a 41-34 lead but failed to convert a two-point conversion attempt, opening the door for Lake Belton to have a final drive to tie the score. A heavy dose of Lake Belton’s D’Arius Wilkerson, who had 45 yards rushing on the final drive of regulation, led to a 14-yard touchdown pass from Crews to TCU commit Javeon Wilcox with 27 seconds remaining.
Red Oak had the first possession in overtime and scored on a 3-yard run from Moses Martindale, but the ensuing extra point was blocked.
