The Hawks started out a little cold against Waco falling behind 9-0, but Joshua Miller (21 pts.) and Marcus Sasser (25 pts.) lit up the 3-point arc and Red Oak soared passed Waco in the first period to a 22-11 lead.
Waco stayed close in the 2nd and 3rd periods, but in the 4th it was all Hawks. The Hawks scored 9 straight points before Waco could get across the half court line. The Hawks maintained the full court pressure until the last few seconds of the game and never allowed Waco to get close. The final was 75-53.
The Hawks travel to Cleburne (currently in 4th place) on Tuesday, Jan. 15 then host Midlothian on Friday, Jan. 18. Currently both Red Oak and Midlothian are tied for 1st place at 4-0. If both teams win on Tuesday, Jan. 15, it sets up a first place showdown at Red Oak on Friday, Jan. 18.
