HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL WEEK 6: Colleyville Heritage 10, Midlothian 7

MIDLOTHIAN — Weston Smith threw a game-winning, 25-yard touchdown pass to Braden Blueitt with about five minutes left to lead Colleyville Heritage.

Smith, who finished 16-of-25 passing for 164 yards, helped Heritage (4-1, 2-0 5-4A-I), ranked No. 6 in the state, avoid the upset loss after Midlothian went ahead on a Deago Benson 9-yard

run two plays into the fourth quarter.

Heritage’s Bryan Hansen made a 21-yard field goal in the first quarter. Benson tallied 101 yards and a touchdown on 18 rushes for Midlothian (2-3, 1-1), which forced three turnovers and stopped Heritage on two fourth-down attempts.
