ENNIS — Devion Beasley scored a diving go-ahead 14-yard touchdown run with 2:52 left in the game as Ennis (2-0) beat Keller Fossil Ridge.
Fossil Ridge got the lead early, scoring 14 points in the first quarter. Ennis came back, taking the lead in the 3rd quarter, 28-21.
In the fourth, Fossil Ridge drove the ball into Ennis territory, where it faced a fourth and 13. Ennis was called for a defensive targeting, maintaining the drive. Keller Fossil Ridge’s Landen Chambers scored on a 15-yard touchdown run on the next play. A two point conversion gave Fossil Ridge a 29-28 lead.
Beasley’s game-winning touchdown run capped off a 7-play, 76-yard Ennis drive.
