    RED OAK – Deago Benson ran for 188 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries to lead the Midlothian Panthers (4-3, 3-1, 4-5A) to a 42-27 win Friday night over the Red Oak Hawks (1-6, 1-3).

    The Hawks pulled to within 28-21 in the fourth quarter when Jaylon Robinson completed a 19-yard touchdown pass to Jace Wyatt. But the Panthers scored two quick touchdowns to put the game away, including a fumble recovery in the end zone by Tylor Knighton.

    Robinson finished 18 of 29 passing for 271 yards and a score for Red Oak (1-6, 1-3), adding two scores on the ground.

    Midlothian had 337 yards of offense – all rushing – in the win.

    The Hawks travel to Mansfield and go up against the Summit High School  Jaguars (4-3, 3-1, 4-5A) on Friday, Oct. 22, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. at Mansfield ISD – Vernon Newsom Stadium.

    Summit is coming off a 35-34 loss to Colleyville Heritage.
