The real threat to our democracy lies in misinformation

I’m going to open a complex little issue that I bet mainstream media hasn’t opened yet.

To pique your interest, let’s call it J6.

And for the record, I’ve spent quite a bit of time this past week with people from various walks of life and have asked them questions about news stories I assume everyone was aware of.

Most told me, “No, that story has not been reported on mainstream media – or minimum if at all.”

So now I understand people really don’t know about news stories and the intricacies involved.

Apparently, it’s not the media’s job to report “all the news” anymore – instead just what’s on the marching orders.

I asked these people about topics such as did they know how bad it still is in Western North Carolina for the people decimated by the hurricane a few months ago.

Or, I asked if they knew how Venezuelan gangs really are a threat in some cities, or were they aware of the very basic back story behind Ukraine and Russia and how that skirmish really began when the Berlin Wall came down.

Or how there are 350,000 missing children that no one can account for, or did they know much about the Diddy and Epstein lists.

There is so many, as people call “conspiracy theories,”  but at some point, when you do the research – you must connect the dots.

Over the years, I’ve watched various situations unfold in the world that seemed unbelievable. I even thought, “not a chance, pour me another glass of vino,”  then I realized everything these so-called conspiracy theorists have been saying for years has for the most part, not been a conspiracy at all.

The CIA made this phrase “conspiracy theory” popular after Kennedy was assassinated, but does anyone really believe Oswald acted alone?

When I heard Senator John Kennedy from Louisiana (not related to above) say it looked like the conspiracy theorists were going to have to get some more conspiracy theories because all the old ones have been true, I realized he was spot on with his comment.

And somewhere it seems like the January 6, 2021, incident could somehow fall into conspiracy theory territory – if the congressional hearings and the Capitol Police and whistleblowers are telling the truth.

First, the January 6 Committee interviewed more than 1,000 people.

Second, there were 40,000 hours of J6 video that was not released.

Instead, we saw the loop of the unruliness of the crowd over and over, which did occur, but what we missed was the footage that included peaceful visits into the Capitol with Capitol Police leading the way.

Then there was the unarmed Jacob Chansley (aka the Shaman) who was clearly invited into the Capitol and escorted by Capitol Police and taken to multiple entrances where police opened doors for him.

So, what is clear is the media showed us controlled footage from January 6, not ALL the footage.

That is called withholding information. One whistleblower testified under oath the FBI would not allow 11,000 hours of footage of J6 because it would expose undercover agents committing crimes against the Capitol.

Did the whistleblower lie? Anything is possible since it was said by a FBI whistleblower that FBI Director Christopher Wray lied under oath when he told the J6 Committee he did not know if there were agents in the crowd that day.

In fact, former United States Capitol Police Chief Stephen Sund (who resigned the following day) said there were more than 40 FBI agents in the crowd on January 6... “the crowd was filled with Federal Agents.”

Wray said he was not aware, citing confusion on who might have been deployed, but the committee member reply was, “You [Wray] and I both know we are focusing on those who were there in an undercover capacity on January 6.”

Remember too the time Former Speaker of the House Fancy Nancy was caught on camera explaining, “You smear somebody with falsehoods and all the rest and then you merchandise it.

“And then you [journalists] write it and they say, see it is reported in the press so they have that validation.”

Perhaps that’s why we never see the important congressional hearings on mainstream media or hear recaps, because no matter the side of the aisle it really does shine light on the truth and not the smear.

Another thing making me wonder about the “insurrection” is how the J6 Committee seems to be poking hole after hole in the story – has that been reported?

US Congressman from Florida Byron Donalds asked questions in congressional hearing talks with Muriel Bowser, DC Mayor at the time and Robert J. Contee III the former Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in D.C.

The logistics of where the National Guard was stationed was explained, why they were unarmed that day, how National Guard requests could only be changed by the Secretary of the Army, and a quick reaction by the National Guard could be denied.

Donalds brought home the point that the person who was calling the shots with the Capitol Police and other decision makers regarding the National Guard that day – was Nancy Pelosi.

The plot thickens when it was pointed out Pelosi said she never talked to the Capital Police or Chief Sund that day.

In fact, she talked to him three times as described in detail and phone records also confirmed Sund’s story.

We know governments lie. We know if you are blue, you say the red lies and if you are red, you say the blue lies.

So that’s one thing everyone seems to have in common in America – they believe the government lies.

The rabbit hole to go down for the answer is “why”  the lies?

It’s not a simple answer, but I can promise it has to do with deal-making and greed, favors, and perhaps threats.

And it’s a bipartisan issue.

Many have been talking about Trump’s choice of selections he’s putting in positions that are going to wake people up.

Maybe with the changes there will be less money changing in schoolyard-like brawls and more getting back to what we hired these political workers to do – THEIR JOB.

Or, maybe not! I do know the American people have been paying the bill for their DC politicians to do their job – so should not said politicians be doing what is best for their constituents versus what is best for the lobbyist paying them to the tune of the downfall of this country?
