The real threat to our Republic lies in misinformation

I was talking to my editor this week about all the “news” going on in the world.

His final question: “What are we supposed to do about it?”

I said exactly what we are doing; report it.

All I’m going to say AGAIN is – this isn’t a red/blue issue.

For those still whining about the right (or the left), you really need to catch up.

The logical minded on both sides of the aisle are realizing this is a constitutional problem – you know if you know.

And truthfully those who really “know” the stakes aren’t talking anyway.

Let me begin by saying the 44 vessels in the Global Sumud Flotilla did not make their delivery to Gaza last week with their humanitarian aid.

I’m beginning to believe perhaps the mission was still a success since they shone light on the truth of many things.

There were about 300 activists arrested in international waters when Israel intercepted the vessels even though international water does not belong to Israel.

Blocking humanitarian aid is a violation of international law.

But who is following the law any more anyway?

The activists (which included Nelson Mandela’s grandson, and politicians from several countries) said they were mistreated in the high security Ketziot prison where they were taken.

Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir gave conflicting responses to the activists’ allegations, but said he was “proud” of the detainees’ harsh treatment (www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/10/5/more-gaza-flotilla-activists-allege-mistreatment-in-israeli-detention).

Ben-Gvir chose to call the activist “terrorist” in his propaganda game. And yes, I know sometimes people do not know what to believe since AI, false media reports and manipulated images are more rampant than the truth these days.

However, my deep dive has produced the fact these activists were taking aid to Gaza. I’m sure they were smart enough to know the vessels would be intercepted.

They also likely knew it would create the noise needed to open the eyes of those still in Zionist denial.

On your own time go down the interesting rabbit hole of Netanyahu’s three marriages and how he ended up in the final one. He is an interesting study. I delved in because it’s important to understand the person who has taken ownership – it gives you a heads up on what cards you need to play.

I was surprised the Christian Right (or as he called them on camera “Christian Reich”) just sat there and took those words from him with no response.

He also had plenty to say about the left so as not to leave anyone out.

Meanwhile his $45m for propaganda advertising on social media is not going to be as easy for the social media influencers paid $7000 a day/week/or whatever to push the Bibi propaganda.

People are awake now. We see that in the fact of MANY peaceful protests going on around the world.

Honestly, I’m not even sure who is protesting what, the flotilla, the digital currency, the genocide. For the latter, in Brooklyn there are over 1,000 Rabbis and Jewish peace activists demanding a Gaza ceasefire.

And what about that crazy Quantico summit (www.defensescoop.com/2025/10/03/hegseth-quantico-speech-trump-reactions) coined “Wrong message, wrong time, wrong audience.”

“This event was a performance, from start to finish, meant to communicate to the military’s senior uniformed leaders that their dissent is unwelcome,” said Virginia Burger, a former nine-year active-duty U.S. Marine Corps officer.

Nevertheless, the top military remained stoic as they listened.

My question, what would our founding fathers have us do now?

The founding fathers designed the U.S. Constitution with principles to prevent government overreach and protect against tyranny.

To that end, it seems people have a bit of issue with the fact Trump suggested the ongoing domestic deployments of the National Guard to American cities could be used as “training grounds” for the military.

Our founding fathers created a system of checks and balances to prevent any one branch/person from becoming too powerful. Thus, the three distinct/independent branches: the legislative (Congress), the executive (the President), and the judicial (Supreme Court and federal courts).

The Declaration of Independence stresses the right of the people to “alter or to abolish” a government that becomes destructive to the people’s rights. It seems the writers believed that ultimate sovereignty resides with “We the People.”

While most military leaders are not going to share what is on their mind right now, and rightly so, I’ve heard a few on social media and it is not favorable.

And, unless I jumped into a timeline where the Constitution changed and I’ve not read the new one, the US military swore an oath to protect the constitution, not the executive branch.

The military’s oath thereby establishes civilian control of the military and guarantees the armed forces’ allegiance to the nation’s governing document.

From what I’ve read, the oath prioritizes allegiance to the Constitution and the requirement to obey orders is subject to regulations and the UCMJ, meaning service members must disobey unlawful or unconstitutional orders.

That is not to say there are not situations going on in various cities in which people are stupidly daring Trump to get down and dirty.

And people, you know he will.

The Ellis County GOP explained in Chicago recently during routine patrolling law enforcement was assaulted rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars.

The agents had to exit the vehicles and one of the people who rammed the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Weapons were deployed and defensive shots fired.

I know people hate law enforcement lately, but you really should pay attention to the government stripping you of your rights while your ego is distracted by this stuff.

The Insurrection Act does allow presidential deployment of military for law enforcement if domestic violence or obstructions hinder federal law execution, which this incident – armed assault on agents, local police refusal to assist, and escalating crowd – could demonstrate, according to the Ellis County GOP.

This might be a suitable time for people to figure out who they’re hurting. Spoiler alert, it’s not Trump or the lobbyists or the politicians taking lobbyist money.

Here are a few things perhaps our founding fathers would ask you in consideration of the fact that as an American you want to remain free.

Of course, the tipping point was COVID, but why did you allow government to lock you down and out of church, school, work, even local elections?

Why did you think it was okay to allow the last administration to open the border to millions of illegals entering and living for free while you were not?

Why do you listen when you know it’s mainstream media propaganda?

Why do you allow your children and yourself to continue to consume poison food and be injected with faulty vaccines?

Why do you sit home instead of voting?

Why are you complacent in allowing politicians who do more for lobbyists than their constituents to remain in office?

Why are you okay with giving up your right to bear arms? Great Britian is hating themselves for doing that about now. It’s the person not the gun killing so why not consider looking into mental wellness instead of dissolving the second amendment: “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Why are you willing to accept the ongoing psyops?

Why are war and genocide okay, just because it hasn’t come to a town near you?

Why is it okay to feed the black budget military industrial complex in the trillions and you don’t even know where the money is going?

Why have you accepted chem trails and poisonous air – and yes, it does exist because Florida and Tennessee have banned it and 10 other states have proposed legislation.

Why are you okay with digital ID turning into digital currency that will clamp your cageless prison doors?

Why are you okay with women and children in slavery in the sex trade and more?

Why is it fine to allow our cities to be overrun with flock cameras... fear, again? Do not blame law enforcement. They are forced to do what they must to placate the politicians who do not want to lose the vote so they take away your rights and offer you a cigarette after.

What do you think?

Complacency got us here.

We can still exit stage left if we could find the door.

Are you looking for the door?
