MIDLOTHIAN – The fire service community across the Texas recently demonstrated the true meaning of brotherhood.
Over two days, 228 firefighters from various departments throughout Texas gathered at the Midlothian Fire Training Facility for “Makin’ the Push for Nathaniel,” a hands-on training event which raised $10,482 for a young boy battling cancer.
Nathaniel dreams of one day becoming a firefighter, and he and his family are currently facing their toughest battle yet.
To show their support, the Midlothian Firefighters Association teamed up with the Buffalo Creek FOOLS to organize the special benefit.
Held Aug. 6 and 7, the intensive weekend featured specialized drills in forcible entry, search and rescue, mid-rise operations, and vertical ventilation.
The weekend concluded with a popular Friday night social and raffle.
