ITALY – Skeletal remains have been found in Italy near Bell Branch Road and FM 876.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office reported the finding last week and to date have not made further comment on the situation.
A press release from the Sheriff’s Department indicated the remains had been discovered and had not yet been positively identified.
“We are working with the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office to obtain confirmation of the individual’s identity,” the release stated.
The Sheriff’s Department was aware of social media posts regarding an adult male who was reported missing to the Waxahachie Police Department, although a date and time of that disappearance was not indicated.
“Our investigators are working closely with Waxahachie Police detectives and the missing person’s family in the event these remains belong to their loved one,” the Sheriff’s Department added.
Until a positive identification is made, the Sheriff’s Department will not speculate regarding the identity of who the skeletal remains belong to or report any further information.
When the Medical Examiner’s Office confirms the identity and the appropriate family has been notified an update will be provided.
