OVILLA – The annual Ovilla Service League dinner will be Friday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. at Vertical Church.
As in year’s past, the dinner will benefit Ovilla’s first responders, and this year the money raised will also benefit Ovilla Animal Services too.
Kim Case, who has been a member of the Ovilla Service League for five years and is in her first year as president said, “By supporting and advancing the goals and needs of the Ovilla community, we strive to enhance the quality of life for all residents.
“Generous contributions also help us raise vital funds for Ovilla first responders ensuring they have the resources needed to protect and serve our community.”
Case said the benefit dinner typically raises about $25,000.
In addition, the Ovilla Service League also gives monthly to North Ellis County Outreach, collects food and funds for the outreach and collects school supplies for Red Oak students.
This is also the second year Campuzano will provide a fajita dinner in lieu of the spaghetti dinners that was synonymous with the annual benefit dinner for years.
There will be a live auction to include a variety of items including an Ovilla quilt, a Harry Potter Afghan, and Houston Rodeo tickets, to name a few.
Attendees can purchase the Ovilla Service League’s new cookbook for $20 called Ovilla Service League Cooks.
Tickets to the benefit dinner are $25 adult and $12.50 children and can be purchased from any Ovilla Service League member.
The Ovilla Service League is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Texas, operating for over 50 years to support the local community, specifically the police and fire departments, through fundraisers like dinners and bake sales.
They also contribute to events such as Heritage Day and Annual Cleanup Day.
