I’m going to pose a question this week.
It’s a question I queried a number of people (likely, as many people as most pollsters ask when they declare the results of their polls).
The question is: “Do you think Americans care more about hating the other side of the aisle than looking at the real problem in American politics these days?”
The “real problem” in my opinion – is both sides of the aisle.
I found people who hate President Donald Trump.
I found people who love President Donald Trump.
Most people want to see change.
That is – most people who are not so full of hate for Trump or so full of hate for the blue that they can’t see past their own fear and loathing.
A White House press release last week announced that a new poll “reveals President Trump’s approval rating has soared to an all-time high of 55%, reflecting Americans’ support for the America First agenda and their confidence in his vision for a stronger, more prosperous nation.”
Pollster James Johnson said in the release, “This is the highest approval figure we have ever shown for Donald Trump,” while affirming President Trump’s transformative leadership and enduring connection with the American people.
Problem is, mainstream media made no mention of this press release and went ahead and did commentary per their own narrative – stating the exact opposite.
A few days after the White House released its numbers The Economist reported, “231 days into Donald Trump’s term and the president’s net approval rating is -14% up 0.3 points since last week.”
It indicated 41% approve, 55% disapprove, and 3% are not sure.
It’s about who is spinning the story.
How do you determine who to believe?
I’ve discovered most people are just going to believe what they HOPE is true, with a nod to their side of the aisle while they close their eyes and hope for the best.
In other words, the red will believe the press release mentioned above and the blue will believe in mainstream media.
Meanwhile, who’s the fool?
Just for giggles, tell me why do so many Americans want to die on the hill in which they blindly believe whether it be in this case – mainstream media or the White House?
It’s like believing a liar because you think the liar might tell the truth one of these days.
Don’t hold your breath.
If you want to really destroy a thing (for example, a county like the US), you need to do it over the course of time and not in just one presidential term.
We are currently seeing the culmination of many years’ worth of smoke screens and tall tales, and it’s become so obvious people are finally able to see the fine print.
I’m sure my blue talking head friends will tell me all the damage Trump is doing to this country and the world – and they will have plenty of reasons to back it up.
Then comes along my red talking head friends who have the same number of reasons why Trump is saving the world – and they will also have plenty of reasons to back it up.
The only thing backed up right now, however, is that neither talking head is going to change their mind or believe the other side is correct.
If there is dissension, there will never be a chance for this country to protect itself from the damage of a political system run on narcissism.
Give yourself a week of real research and you’ll see both sides of the aisle are driven by power, greed, and lobbyists feeding distraction because they know it works.
Aldous Huxley, who lived from 1894 to 1963, told the BBC many years ago how populations can be controlled by endless distractions.
Huxley was the English writer/philosopher who wrote “Brave New World” set in a futuristic World State. The citizens were environmentally engineered into an intelligence-based social hierarchy. “Brave New World” shares a vision of scientific advancements that becomes a dystopian society.”
Sound familiar?
Huxley said people can be contented with servitude, pointing out it was already being done in his lifetime. He said this is because common man has been bred to allow endless amounts of distractions and propaganda to take away their true freedom.
While George Orwell in his book “1984” published a decade after Huxley’s was about a complete disintegration of society, Huxley warned of a far subtler dystopia. He saw a world where people wouldn’t need to be oppressed because they would be too distracted, too comfortable, and too entertained to care.
Huxley was critical of a modern industrialized society (now 2025 and we are facing that reality) promoting conformity and materialism. He foresaw technology being used for social control through conditioning and pleasure.
Think, digital currency, AI, smart devices – and here we are.
Keep in mind too, dystopia does not mean world peace and kumbaya. The powers that pull the strings make too much money with the military industrial complex for that, but it’s easier to lord over everyone if “everyone” is not asking questions.
Besides, war is big business and that goes hand in hand with hate. And, with Americans hating each other they are too distracted to demand limits on lobbyists, term limits on politicians and a call for government to be held to the same standards as you are held to while trapped in your cageless prison.
Meanwhile, I’m sure those who keep the drama going are drinking a nice glass of scotch – neat – with a big fat cigar and laughing at how easy the game has been to control the masses.
It’s up to you.
Veni, vidi, vici.
