WILMER – The City of Wilmer approved an Interlocal Agreement with STAR Transit for public transportation services provided to its citizens.
The agreement is an extension to the services currently offered to residents and will allow for uninterrupted service through Sept. 30, 2026.
STAR Transit is encouraging all Wilmer residents and businesses to participate in upcoming public meetings to discuss service updates scheduled to begin Oct. 1.
“STAR Transit is always working to support our riders and make transit a reliable choice for more people,” said Executive Director Tommy Henricks. “With traffic congestion and road construction affecting travel, public transit can have a positive impact in people’s daily lives.
“Next week we’ll hold two meetings to discuss service updates in Wilmer and hear from the community. One will be in person and the other online, so everyone has a chance to participate.”
In-person Public Meeting Monday: Aug. 25 at 11:30 a.m. at Wilmer Senior Center, 220 1st Street.
Virtual Public Meeting: Friday, Aug. 29 at Noon.
