Before you read my column this week, I want to remind everyone to take a moment and remember to feel gratitude for at least one thing in your life.
It helps.
It helps because if you’ve been following the rabbit hole for any amount of time, you know situations are becoming blatant and nothing is as it appears.
Not to mention the fact that the players in this game of chess seem to be getting messy.
That and the blue and red is beginning to fade into an ugly color, particularly when it comes to who in DC is representing “we the people.”
I usually remind everyone at the end of my column that we must demand term limits for state and federal representatives and senators.
This time I’m saying it front and center.
Be real, is there any reason a person needs to spend their entire adult career in Washington DC politics?
If we manage this first issue correctly and demand term limits to end the saga of the career politician nightmare, the second issue we need to take care of will not so quickly rear its ugly head.
That second issue; lobbyist.
More specifically let’s talk about a lobbyist group people have mentioned this past week called AIPAC (American Israeli Public Affairs Committee).
AIPAC has come up in numerous conversations for obvious reasons regarding the Israel/Iran conflict that the US has now gotten itself squarely involved in after the weekend bombing.
Dummied down, just in case, AIPAC gives lots of politicians on both sides of the aisle lots of money (i.e., political campaign donations.)
Has anyone noticed money talks?
And it seems to talk really loud in DC.
I’m not going to go into the large amounts of money AIPAC has given out freely to the open hand’s club, but here is full disclosure to peruse at your leisure (www.opensecrets.org/industries/summary?cycle=All&ind=Q05&recipdetail=S).
So, with that said, it seems Israel really wanted the US to get involved in their Iran situation last week. So, we did, to the tune of airstrikes and three targets hit.
Airstrikes I said. There was no declaration of war.
I’m not going to say the United States does or does not need to stand with Israel.
Personally, I cannot track the Christian reasoning. I do know they have one (just ask Ted Cruz).
I don’t believe, however, America should stand with Israel based on politicians being beholden to the money train.
If we stand with Israel it needs to be for reasons that aren’t aligned with greed.
Speaking of standing with Israel and Christians and money, that Cruz/Tucker Carlson interview last week was a good one.
Albeit it left some Americans and Texans a bit disheartened when it was discovered he stands with Israel over his own constituents.
“Biblically, we are commanded to support Israel,” Cruz told Carlson.
Carlson stopped him.
“You are a senator, and now you’re throwing out theology… we are commanded as Christians to support the government of Israel?”
Cruz confirmed that was correct.
Uh, Cruz, you do know Israel the country did not even exist until 1948, long after the Bible was in existence.
And, just to send you down another rabbit hole, did you know the CIA was created in 1947 just one year prior to Israel and Mossad was created in 1949, one year after.
Finding that a bit “odd” as are many rabbit hole dwellers these days.
But that’s another day.
Let’s just end the Cruz conversation with the fact AIPAC has given Cruz $1,872,038 since 1994.
It’s obvious the roots run deep in the Middle East be it oil, money, lobbyist, promises, and definitely agendas long hidden from the American people.
I can promise you the American people likely have about 1% of the information.
To me, it smells a bit like the same vibe as the weapons of mass destruction narrative from 2003. Except, while the majority of the American people were sleeping during the 2003 drama, this time the majority is awake.
Then there are the ones who think they are awake chanting “Go IRAN” as if they have a clue.
First, I want to ask them to show me where Iran is on a map.
Then I’m going to mention what I heard one Iranian lady mention, “People who hate Trump are defending the Iranian government even though the Iranian government does to the people of Iran what the people who hate Trump think Trump is going to do in America.”
And those same people are afraid of sleeper cells being on US soil, but just last week those same people were protesting to have people who sneak into the country be allowed to stay on US soil and even though the Islamic state has made it clear many times “Death to America.”
Are the “Keep your hands off Iran” protests this week about allowing (what the Iranian Prime Minister called) “Peaceful Nuclear facilities” to remain in the country. If so, it could become what Obama called a nuclear arms race in the middle east.
Hey blue friends, I’m sure not one middle eastern nuclear bomb is going to care if it strikes you.
For now, it’s airstrikes and specifically for all my friends who are losing their mind because we are in a “war” well, we are not.
Airstrikes are not war.
And the airstrikes were within Trump’s job as the President according to the War Powers Resolution of 1973. This resolution states the president does not need congressional permission to bomb a country if it is not a declaration of war. He does have to let congress know within 48 hours, which he did. The president must also limit troops for deployment to no more than 60/90 days without congressional authorization.
Ask our buddy Obama, because “The Drone Reaper” (his nickname) led quite a few airstrikes during his day minus congressional permission. In fact, the Council on Foreign Relations said “The 542 drone strikes that Obama authorized killed an estimated 3,797 people, including 324 civilians” (www.cnn.com/2014/09/23/politics/countries-obama-bombed).
Trump’s airstrikes this past weekend killed no one.
And, does anyone remember Biden’s airstrikes on Iran-backed militia in Syria a few years ago?
One Iranian Diaspora Member said, “Let me make it very clear, targeting IRGC bases is not targeting the Iranian people and it is not an attack on Iran. It is targeting the very people who terrorize the people of Iran. The Iranian people share a common enemy with the Israeli people. The Iranian people will stand with the Israeli people because the force that is terrorizing the people of Israel is the same force terrorizing the people of Iran.”
Did anyone happen to watch the news over the weekend from London where Iranians and Jews flying their flags stood next to one another in front of the Islamic regime’s embassy chanting together “Am Yisrael Chai.”
Of course, this could possibly have been avoided if Hillary Clinton had not supplied Iran with Uranium to enrich their nuclear program. And if Obama had not given Iran $1.7 billion to fund its nuclear program.
And then Joe Joe went and unfroze over $16 billion of funds for Iran?
So now, (and I’m writing this just because I can’t help myself) it seems your daddy Trump is having to go in and clean up the mess.
Here’s another theory – the airstrikes were to force a regime change in Iran.
The commentator suggested a regime change would “knock Iran out of its recent cozy relationship with Russia and China and destroy BRICS.”
If you’ve been following BRICS, you know it represents an existential threat to the western banking system and its control of the financial world.
And now post bombing, Americans are supposed to be worried about the sleeper cells that were allowed into the US by the last administration.
Can we believe anything anymore?
Especially in a world where everyone is an armchair expert. Like last month, when everyone was a tariff expert and this month there is a glut of war experts.
Can we do commonsense experts next because it’s going to take that for the American people to join together and see the real problem.
