MIDLOTHIAN – The Midlothian ISD school board approved a five-year contract extension for Dr. David Belding last week.
Dr. Belding has been with the district since Sept. 2023 when he was unanimously named Superintendent of Schools of Midlothian ISD by the Board of Trustees.
MISD School Board President Gary Vineyard said of the five-year extension that the reasoning behind the five-year contract was multifaceted.
“Since his arrival, he has been present across the district and community giving everyone the opportunity to meet him,” Vineyard explained.
“He built a culture of trust early on and transformed the district by bringing a sense of belonging and respect among campus and district leadership.”
Dr. Belding arrived at the district with 36 years of experience as a Texas public school educator.
“Midlothian ISD has flourished since his arrival and the community has overwhelming accepted and welcomed him,” Vineyard concluded.
“I cannot think of a better leader to come in and do what he has accomplished in such a short time.
“Even in adversity with budget issues, he continues to lead in a positive and strategic matter. The five-year contract is our commitment to him that he belongs in MISD.”
