HUTCHINS – Chick-fil-A distribution in Hutchins will be the  home to the largest center in the nation.

The Atlanta-based restaurant chain is spending $100 million on a new, 290,000-square-foot facility which will keep Dallas-Fort Worth area Chick-fil-A locations stocked with chicken sandwiches, nuggets, waffle-cut fries and other popular menu items.

The distribution center, the seventh nationally, will be fully operational by the end of February.

But it’s not until May that all 225 North Texas restaurants will receive shipments from the new facility, stated Mike Hazelton, Chick-fil-A’s vice president of supply chain operations in a press release.

Chick-fil-A Supply, the chain’s distribution subsidiary, is looking to hire 225 employees, such as drivers and customer service representatives, at an average wage of $68,585, Hazelton said.

“We’re real excited about being able to hire local talent,” he said.

“There’s a lot of opportunity for growth here in the D-FW area and in Texas. So I think we have a real opportunity to impact not only our local operators and team members in restaurants, but also impact this local community.”
