ENNIS – The Ennis Chamber of Commerce and the chamber’s CEO Geoeffery Williams were the sponsors of Ennis’ town hall meeting last week, which drew in a large crowd interested in the city’s current and future growth.

City leaders shared information regarding where Ennis is now and its future projects.

Ennis Mayor Angeline Juenemann, Ellis County Commissioner Lane Grayson, pct. 2, Ennis Police Chief Dustin Munn and Ennis City Manager Marty Nelson all sat at the dais and had their turn to speak.

Major discussion included the city’s downtown railroad tracks underpass project. The $50 million project is an important part of the future of downtown’s master plan.

The city has spent years working with Union Pacific, consultants and the Texas Department of Transportation and is set to begin construction this year.
