MIDLOTHIAN – State ranked Midlothian Heritage got four touchdowns from Stetson Sarratt and a solid defensive effort against Mansfield Summit in District 5-5A Division II play at the Midlothian ISD Athletic Complex.
Heritage (6-0, 3-0) led from the start thanks to Sarratt’s big game, as he contributed all three of the team’s first-half touchdowns in taking a 21-0 halftime lead.
Two of those scores came on touchdown passes from Carter Rutenbar, who finished with 213 yards passing and three scores. Sarratt added a 22-yard interception return for his other
first-half score.
Heritage, ranked fourth in 5A Division II, kept the pressure on in the second half with rushing touchdowns by Jayden Moore and Jayce McCoy. The Heritage defense also held up its side of the contest, holding Summit to just 117 total yards.
Summit (3-3, 2-1) got its lone touchdown in the third quarter on a one-yard run by Braylon Moore.
