ELLIS COUNTY – When Texas State Representative Brian Harrison, Republican, D-10 said, “I’m fed up with overtaxed Texans being forced to fund government tyranny and the indoctrination of their children,” he meant business.

Late last week, Harrison announced the Texas State Library and Archives Commission would not be renewing its contracts with the American Library Association.

This move came after a letter the representative wrote – demanding TSLAC cut ties with the organization.

Harrison said in a statement, “Less than one month after I requested the Texas State Library and Archives Commission to cut ties with the American Library Association, I am excited to report that they just informed me they will not renew their contract with them.”

Harrison said he applauds the “courageous and decisive decision by Texas State Library and Archives Commission Chairwoman Martha Wong” in this decision.

Harrison’s letter sent to TSLAC asked that they immediately cut all ties, financial and otherwise, with the ALA after they elected Emily Drabinski, a “self-proclaimed Marxist lesbian” as president.

In Harrison’s letter to Wong, he stated, “This shocking information has caused the Montana State Library Commission to leave the ALA, and has led state legislators across the country to demand their commissions do the same.”

Following Harrison’s letter, Midland County announced last week they would be leaving the America Library Association too.

“I am proud to have helped deliver this huge win for Texas taxpayers,” Harrison concluded.

“If the American Library Association wants to push socialism and Marxist ideology, they can do it on their own dime.”
