FERRIS – The City of Ferris has been named #23 in the Stacker’s list of compiled cities with the fastest growing home prices in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

The report stated a one-year price change increased by 3.2% or $8,224 and a five-year price change came in with a 63.8% increase or $101,927. 

A typical home value is at $261,732 in Ferris making it the 151st most expensive city in the metroplex.

Ferris City Manager Brooks Williams said, “Compared to cities in Ellis County and even in the metroplex, Ferris has much to offer, and it is just keeps getting better as we grow.”

Williams cited the city’s location off Interstate 45 and the new housing developments and businesses coming in as part of the continued positive growth.

“Ferris is one of the best kept secrets around the area. 

“We are definitely seeing the numbers to demonstrate just how this “little town that bricked the world” has become one of the most appealing options in around,” Williams concluded 

Cities on the list, according to Stacker, were ranked by a one-year price variation from May 2022 to May 2023. 

The publication used 179 cities and towns in the Dallas area for the research used to compile this list.
