WAXAHACHIE – On Monday, July 31 at approximately 6 p.m., the Waxahachie Police Department received several 911 calls reporting people were running out of the Waxahachie Walmart due to a possible loud noise that may have sounded like gunfire.

Police evacuated the store and officers performed a complete and thorough search of the store.

They also reviewed security camera footage.

Based on the investigation of both, police found there was no indication any shots had been fired in the store.

It was determined there was no threat to the public, and at around 7 p.m. the property was given an all-clear for shoppers to return.
