WAXAHACHIE – Tom Thumb announced this past week it’s growing with Dallas-Fort Worth and will start construction in Waxahachie.

The store is expected to open in summer 2024 and will have an in-store Starbucks, pharmacy drive-thru, and grocery pick-up area.

The Waxahachie store will also have bakery, deli, meat and seafood counters, along with produce and floral areas.

Fort Worth-based Horton TX is building the 59,000-square-foot Tom Thumb in Waxahachie on a parcel with space for additional retail at 180 E. North Grove Blvd.

“Developing in Texas has its challenges, but entering a rapidly expanding market such as the city of Waxahachie with a client like Tom Thumb makes the job that much more special,” said Horton TX President Robert Horton.

Tom Thumb is holding groundbreaking ceremonies on June 30 at 10 a.m. in Waxahachie.
