DUNCANVILLE – Duncanville (5-0, 3-0) scored 24 second-half points to come from behind and defeat Waxahachie (4-1, 1-2), 24-7, Friday night. With the win, Duncanville maintains first place in District 11-6A.
Three fourth-quarter interceptions turned into 17 Duncanville points, which was enough to seal the win despite trailing at halftime.
Duncanville quarterback Keelon Russell was 11-for-19 for 149 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Caden Durham was the team’s leading rusher and receiver with143 yards and a touchdown on the ground and 55 yards in the air.
Waxahachie now has the toughest part of its schedule behind it and will face Mansfield Legacy this week.
Duncanville will compete for sole control of first place in the district next week, as it faces Mansfield, the only other remaining undefeated team in 11-6A.
