CORSICANA — Jackson Gilkey threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns, including a 51-yard touchdown pass to Gracen Harris in the first quarter, to give Ennis a win over Corsicana at Tiger Stadium.
Ennis (1-3, 1-0 District 5-5A Division II) built up a 24-7 lead at halftime and maintained it by keeping Corsicana scoreless through the second half.
Jace Berry helped Ennis extend its advantage with a 3-yard rushing score in the third quarter, and Gilkey connected with Kalen Tisdale for a 76-yard passing touchdown early in the fourth.
Jamarion Wafford scored the game’s final touchdown, rushing it in from 26 yards. Corsicana (1-3, 0-1) put up a fight in the first quarter with the help of Adrian Baston, who threw for 164 yards in the contest.
Dontay Thomas gave Corsicana its only score in the second quarter, finishing off a 3-yard run.
Harris led Ennis with 173 receiving yards on 12 catches, while Braylyn Brandon led Corsicana with seven catches and 82 receiving yards.
